Ordo Dracul

Nicholas Ulrich Nicholas Ulrich
Title: Regent
City Status: x4
Theme song: Dreaming of that face again.
It's bright and blue and shimmering.
Grinning wide
And comforting me with it's three warm and wild eyes.

On my back and tumbling
Down that hole and back again
Rising up
And wiping the webs and the dew from my withered eye.

--Tool, Third Eye

An influential member of the Ordo Dracul, Nicholas arrived from Germany in 1976. His unfocused nature have caused rumors of an affection for 'tainted' blood, but did not prevent him from rising to prominence and taking the Regency in Lud's absence. While not terribly heavy handed as a Regent, he responds to threats against the city or his power with a viciousness that some find disturbing.

Theme song: When you peel back my eyes
I see the pain and feel alive
My hatred heaps upon this fire
That burns inside and you blow higher

--KMFDM, Ultra

Eleanor has a penchant for flower scents, modern music, pre-Raphaelite paintings, and fine hand-crafted knives. She enjoys reading the daily newspapers, watching Britcoms, and perusing medical journals. When not attending kindred gatherings, she can be found at all-nighters, either working security, or just watching the crowds.

Theme song:I can't seem to face up to the facts
I'm tense and nervous and I can't relax
I can't sleep 'cause my bed's on fire
Don't touch me, I'm a real live wire
--Talking Heads, Psycho Killer

Eleanor may or may not be the "Bloody Nora" Trethowan who committed a notorious mass murder in 1964, but she was a resident of the Broadmoor Criminal Lunatic Asylum in the years prior to her Embrace. Since the mid-1970s, however, she has been a delightful addition to London's vampire society. Such a nice girl... Why, she wouldn't even harm a fly.

Title: Mistress of Highgate Cemetery
City Status: x2
Theme song:Folly of a love I strangled
Pulsing heart I thought was gone
Gives no peace
Will not cease
Prowling 'round till dawn

--Miss Billie Holiday and her Orchestra, Ghost of Yesterday

Miss Esther Peague is a pleasant woman who appears to just be happy socializing with other people, regardless of rank or stature. Her friendly demeanor seems to invite most anyone to openly speak with her at gatherings. Strangely her generous behavior does not extend to open invitations to her territory wherein she politely infers quick and destructive disappearances for all who enter without her prior permission. But you wouldn't want to go through the bother and insensitivity of testing that would you? After all, when your head has been partially ripped off and portions of your brain fed to a collection of vermin it doesn't make for a jolly evening now does it? Quite good dear, now please pass the "tea".

Giles Amberleigh Giles Amberleigh
Title: Master of the Rack
City Status: x3
Theme song: When I go out with artists
They talk about language and the cubists and the dadaists
And I try to catch their meanings
And keep up with all the martinis
I don't know which should be my favorite paintings

If I could see, if I could see, if I could
See all the symbols, unlock what they mean
Maybe I could, maybe I could, maybe I
Could meet the artists, and get to know them personally

--Crash Test Dummies, When You Go Out With Artists

Giles Amberleigh entered Kindred society shortly after World War 2, and eventually joined the Invictus under the tutelage of Raoul deFois. Since that time he has prospered. His mortal holdings of eccentric pubs and trendy clubs were ultimately granted the status of London's Rack by Prime Minister Lud the night before he left for his most recent bout of torpor. Mr. Amberleigh has made an extensive study of "winemaking", his euphemism for artfully cultivating special tastes and intoxicating effects in vitae through the manipulation of diet and drugs in carefully selected vessels. Such vintages are only available to others via special request, however, and he takes great pains to ensure that the vessels available at the Rack are no more "altered" than any other human at a pub or trendy nightclub.

Theme song:I? burning through the sky

I? traveling at the speed of light

--Queen, Don't Stop Me Now

Monsieur deFois comes from a long line of Invictus-Daevas. Originally from Paris, he arrived in London in 1953, and established his well-respected gentlemen? club, The Adonis, in 1955. Monsieur deFois has done well for himself in both business and within the Invictus. He has helped his fellow Invictus members in the past, establishing his loyalty to the Covenant. It is well known among the Kindred that membership into The Adonis is by invitation only.

Theme song:I'm sure I'm no ascetic; I'm as pleasant as can be;
You'll always find me ready with a crushing repartee,
I've an irritating chuckle, I've a celebrated sneer,
I've an entertaining snigger, I've a fascinating leer.

--Gilbert & Sullivan, If you give me your attention (from Princess Ida)

Grand Duke William [etc.] is a very high status Daeva Invictus (yes, high status in both Clan and Covenant) who has been in London since the 1950s. He arrived in the company of the Marchesa, and is known for claiming to be a stickler for strict etiquette while at the same time cheerfully ignoring the rules himself. Although he is an enormous snob, he will also quite happily converse with anyone of any station, providing that they can be entertaining about it.

Recently he has been absent from court. He has not been seen since just after Lud appointed Regent Nicholas to rule while he slept. He controls a vast media empire, is fabulously wealthy, and his public haven is in a large townhouse here in town along the river. It has just been heard that he has been seen again and will again be attending events.

James Harrow James Harrow
Title:
City Status: x2
Theme song: To follow it you must be clean
With mistakes that you do mean
Move the heart switch the pace
Look for what seems out of place.

--Peter Murphy, Cuts You Up

This enigmatic aristocrat first appeared at the London court in 1888, to Lud's immediate displeasure. The origin of their animosity remains hidden, though its roots clearly run deep, and has generated disquieting rumors about Harrow's occult interests. That he has managed to endure in the face of Lud's disfavor has earned him a measure of respect within his own Covenant.

Josephine Daquet Josephine Daquet
Title:
City Status: x2
Theme song: Sometimes I remember the darkness of my past
Bringing back these memories I wish I didn't have
Sometimes I think of letting go and never looking back
And never moving forward so there'd never be a past

--Linkin Park, Easier to Run

Josephine Daquet, a Parisian Khaibit, has been employed by James Harrow as chauffeur, head of security and sometimes bodyguard, since she arrived in London in 1968. She speaks little of her past, but some whisper that she fled France in shame during WWII. None have dared speak this to her face.

A relatively low ranking member of the Invictus covenant, she is known for her driving finesse and martial grace. For the right price, she has been known to carry out the odd job or two, providing the end goal does not conflict with those of her employer.

Title: House Steward
City Status: x2
Theme song:I want to be flexible...
I want to go out of my way for you, but enough is enough...
where is the line with you? I am elastic...

--Bjork, Medulla

Mr. Machten is an American placed here by his house. On what business? Don't bother asking because he won't tell. He has been a resident of the city and a staunch member of the Invictus Covenant since his arrival in 1977. He frequently maintains contact with his House the Machten's of Paris while running a hunting lodge in the countryside. He usually doesn't have much to say and when he does it usually isn't very nice.

--Queen, Killer Queen

The Marchesa has spent time in most of the larger cities of Europe and is famous (and infamous) in Vampire society for hosting extravagant and decadent parties. She lives just outside of London in a large manor house which she shares with the Grand Duke William Victor Knute Leonidas Porter Thaddeus Smith.

And here's where mine ends

--George Michael, I want your sex

"Sugar Dadd" Brian McDadd came to London as a very young Kindred in the mid seventies, some say fleeing some kind of scandal in his former city. For many years he labored in the slums as a small time pimp. Around the mid-nineties, he launched his "importation business" and has since risen to a very influential position in the city's underworld. Now he confidently claims that he can get you whatever--or whoever--happens to be your pleasure.
